Coming Soon...
I know I made promises in my last update and now I am giving a progress report on the promises made. Where to start? Ok...last weeks of pregnancy woes including but not limited to: puffy hands, baseball ankles, vienna sausage toes, nine month beach ball belly, stretch marks, nesting, etc. Thanks to the nesting (an uncontrollable urge to keep your house beyond immaculate and clean places you'd never before even wanted to think were dirty) I got some really nice pictures of my new digs all clean and decorated, so I will have those on display as soon as I get them loaded into the computer. I would also like to share the abusrd phenomenon of how being pregnant makes you become an advice/comments box.
Today, Sept. 6th, 2006, my due date I would like to report that I have been experiencing mild contractions I like to call "muscle tightneings" because they aren't really a significant sign of labor although they do indicate that progress is slowly but surely being made. I crossed the last thing-to-do off my list today and with the assembly of my cradle yesterday and putting sheets on it today I'd say I am totally ready to meet my son. If only the damn sink could stay empty. So still no baby but...Maybe tomorrow, or tonight for that matter! I'll try my best to get these prior mentioned blogs posted before giving birth. I would just like to say thanks for all your patience.

The bounty of life. You are officially full of BEN. And to think he will be denied any memory of his first occupancy and subsequent first trip to a new land. And lacking any comprehensive communication skills, he'll not be able to describe to us what his experience has been thus far. Those who arrive here cannot tell us from where they came, and those who depart from here refuse to tell us where they are. Mysterious and action-packed. You are the source from which life will emerge..and we are your captive audience keenly focused on giving our full time and attention to Ben's Birthday. I'm free. Anytime is good. Issue a Summons for Benjamin Ace Messer to appear in person before his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. We need him here to lavish with tons of lovings. He has know idea how much fun he's missing and how many cheek-bites he's already behind on receiving from his Ugly No-Name Hensley Grandfather. (I'm calling Daddy "Ugly No-Name Hensley Grandfather" to provoke him into deciding what he is going to be called. He refuses most stubbornly to pick his name and he does this to aggravate Ben's G.G., which, when Ben is old enough to understand this will provoke him, too, because of Ben's great love he already has for his G.G.) Big Squeezes you beautiful Mama.

I keep watching the moon and expecting a call...
Can't wait to see the new baby! Wish I could just fly home and be there.
Love you,
Shan
