Life goes by so fast!
It has been oh too long since I've been on this site. There is a new version of blogger I know nothing about. But on with the more important things. My little baby boy is two months old tomorrow! Everyone says "they grow up too fast" and that, my friends, is the biggest understatement I have every heard. The pediatrician put it into perspective for me when he informed me that at no other time in our lives do we grow as fast as in the first two months of life and if we did we would out grow our parents by the time we were five years old. Benjamin went to the doctor yesterday for his two month checkup. At birth he weighed 6lb 11oz and was 21" long and yesterday he weighed 11lbs 7 1/2oz and stretched 23" long. If he kept on growing at this pace he would grow 12 inches a year and gain about 40% of his body weight every two months. With all this growing he's been doing he has developed the cutest double chin I've ever seen in my life and his knees are no longer wrinkley like a shar pei and are beginning to take on the michelin tire guy look. Also, instead of wanting to cradle him gently and love on him I now find myself wanting to squish and and squeeze him tight. I resist cause I know he wouldn't like to be squeezed but sometimes I wrap my arms around him and tense up my arm muscles as tight as they get so it seems like I am squeezing him...but I'm not. It's the only way I can satisfy the craving to eat him up like a sugar baby. He smiles a gorgeous smile every morning when he wakes up and for about 5 minutes straight when I return home from work. He loves to take a bath but doesn't like getting out because the air is always too freakin' cold no matter what you do. The bath ritual begins by mommy (me) letting the shower run on pure hot water for a few minutes to get it nice and steamy in the bathroom. Meanwhile I get out Ben's new clothes and a fresh diaper for when he gets out. Then I get him all naked and put him into the tub where he likes to kick his legs like an olympic swimmer. After we've had our fill of swimming fun I put the big people towel over my shoulder and hoist his slippery wet body onto my shoulder and quickly cover his head and back with the baby towel followed by a large, warm blankey and pop the passy in his mouth so he doesn't scream. Then we go get on mommy and daddy's bed where Mommy and Ben cuddle for a while until he is ready to put on his fresh diaper (By which time it's a coin toss if he's already peed or not). After lotion and a new diaper he usually eats and falls asleep which makes it a little difficult to get his new clothes on but we make it happen somehow.
In addition to the bath some of his other favorite things to do include swing and ride in the car. He isn't too interested in toys yet but he does enjoy watching the tropical fish moble on his swing go round and round and has discovered the rattle that dangles from the toy arch of his bouncer. He knows that if he raises his hands that it makes noise but I don't think he realizes he's making it make noise yet. He's so cute! And that is where I am leaving it tonight. I will blog more tomorrow night. Perhaps about the explosive poopy experience I had this morning and oh so often in my life now. Stay tuned.

I can vouch. Leiah is a great mom and that little boy is an ever-growing chunk of heaven. I like when he farts. Even his farts are cute!

Benjamin doesn't fart! Those are just little poofs of air.

I can see it all in my mind's eye and from our experiences together giving Ben a bath. You are a wonderful mommy, Leiah. Any child of yours is lucky indeed.
I miss you and I miss Ben, so what is new. He's trying to tell you he wants to come to visit his GiGi and Granddude again. It's December 7th already. That's what he is saying with all those smiles and hand movements. Hugs and Kisses and tons of love to you both.
